October the 12th : Hispanic Day

October 12 is the National Day of Spain (Fiesta Nacional de España) or Hispanic Day (Dia de la Hispanidad).

All Spaniards celebrate the discovery of America, which took place exactly October 12 1492, by the Italian Christopher Columbus, backed by the Catholic Monarchs.

The National Day in Valencia is very important.

The 12th October is the feast of the Virgen del Pilar to whom is made at noon an offering of flowers and to whom  Mass is dedicated. The ceremony takes place in the Aragonese Centre in Valencia, composed of 1.5000. members
