It is the festival of "The cross of Mayo", all the streets of Valencia are decorated with crosses made of flowers.
The second Sunday in May
We celebrate the Virgin of the Forsaken, Mare de Deu dels Desemparats. Once a year the Virgin is carried in procession of flower petals from the Basilica of the Plaza of the Virgin to the Cathedral. At the end of the festival, the place is a blanket of flowers.
