Sagunt

In less than half an hour you can reach from Valencia the beautiful medieval city of Sagunto, this city became important because of its commercial relations with Massalia, the ancient Roman colony. In Sagunto you can also visit the ancient Roman theater.

The towers of the huge castle of Sagunto, located in the upper part of the city, are visible from the plain, and show signs of  Roman, Iberian, Arab and medieval remains. The most modern part of the town is, however, the port of Sagunto.

You can visit the Castle from Monday to Saturday from 10.00 to 18.00 in winter and in summer from 10.00 to 20.00. On Saturday and Sunday is open from 10.00 to 14.00.

Getting to Sagunto?
By bus: line number 115 with AVSA from Valencia to Sagunto every 45 minutes.
In train: the line going to Sagunto is the  C6. Take a  look at the schedule on www.renfe.es
